Internet Explorer is slowly but surely trudging into the big silver truck for that long, lonely journey to the great browser farm in the sky. That sound you hear is developers across the globe rejoicing, but you may still be required to use it. So what do you need to know to get through it all unscathed?

You can still use IE 11

As of January 12th, IE 11 is the only version that Microsoft will support, update, and provide security patches for. However, you’ll only receive support if you’re using IE 11 on Windows 7, 8.1 or 10.

“End of life” for IE 8,9,10

As of January 12, IE 8,9,10 are no longer supported by Microsoft. What does that mean? They’re no longer providing security updates, compatibility fixes, and technical support for those browsers. So unless you’re required to use one of those browsers, it’s wise to steer clear. There are two exceptions: IE 9 is still supported on Windows Vista Service Pack 2, and IE 10 is supported on Windows Server 2012. Never fear, Edge is here!

Not ready to go Chrome? Firefox not your type? Fear not. Microsoft Edge has come to save the day, and both marketers and web developers are glad to see that it’ll render sites in a much more similar way to other browsers, easing some of the pain caused by Internet Explorer. Here’s some tips to get the most from Edge.
