Despite their undisputed leadership in the field, FSU’s College of Education was losing ground and prospective students to cheaper, less rigorous programs in and outside Florida. By helping college administrators find clarity in their mission and communicate a consistent message, we’ve given The FSU College of Education a competitive advantage over low cost community schools and a growing number of online for-profit schools.

On-campus focus groups with internal and external audiences revealed that an intensive focus on the student experience and education innovation was a clear differentiator and competitive advantage.

Telling the story of student experience through powerful imagery was an important part of the brand refresh strategy. We worked closely with the College of Education marketing team to build out an extensive image library that showed a focus on student and faculty relationships, one-on-one classroom instruction, and teaching innovations.

The benefits of the renewed brand are front-and-center on the College of Education website. Succinct, bold messaging and student-focused photography presents Florida State University as one of the leading Colleges of Education in the country.

User-First Experience

Our primary goal for the COE website was to eliminate clutter and help visitors quickly and easily find important, relevant content. Audience-based navigation allows visitors to follow a clear path, while filtered “smart search” functionality helps users find the content they need.

Saying More with Less

With the previous version of the FSU College of Education website, visitors had to navigate through unnecessary layers and more than 3,000 pages of content across two separately managed websites. After studying user analytics to determine the most important content, we were able to eliminate 2,700 pages of superfluous content.

Sharing the Student Experience First-Hand

The FSU College of Education has launched the careers of thousands of teachers, researchers, coaches, and administrators — and each one has a story. So we asked students and recent alumni to share their stories about what motivated them to teach and help shape the future of education. What we heard was nothing short of inspiring. The dedicated focus on individual students has made a tremendous impact on the lives and careers of thousands of educators.
