While there were many factors to this accomplishment, Clemson’s #4 national ranking in alumni participation was a major contributor to that success. Building A Beautiful Newsletter Doesn’t Have to Suck

Newsletter building can be an arduous process and historically the experience and effort didn’t align with the end product. Not only that, but when you turn over email building tools to non-designers, they typically provide an end-product and experience that is not good either. We thought, “Building Newsletters Doesn’t Have to Suck” so we created a new process that has become a product for us, called Refeed. Up&Up’s CEO, Adam Landrum will show you a completely different UX for building newsletters, which well, doesn’t suck, and may make you rethink the newsletter experience, from build to consumption.

Lore & Storytelling: New Thinking for Brand Leadership

Higher education is a highly competitive industry, and heightened criticism of its cost and value, has motivated institutions to make a compelling case for enrollment and philanthropic support. Establishing “compatibility of belief” between the institution and its constituencies is essential to engagement, understanding, and participation. Enter storytelling, where traditional elements such as myth, legend, music, poetry, art, and drama provide time-tested ways of connecting to the accumulated facts, traditions or beliefs about our institutions. We will discuss methods for identifying beliefs and telling stories that speak to those beliefs, ways to break down the boundaries of traditional job functions to become a storytelling organization, and strategies that colleges and universities can use to harness the internet, mobile communications, and social media to engage their constituencies.
